Meet the Directors
Meet the Max Directors
Steve Barry, CEO of Pro-Fitness in Christchurch and Bodyworks in Wellington, New Zealand; Kerry and Rowena McEvoy, the Owners and Directors of the Australian Institute of Fitness in Queensland along with Jon Mailer, Owner and Director of the National College of Business in Queensland, joined together in 2004 to establish Max International College for Fitness Professionals.
Hello from Steve & Ben THE MAX Directors
You want to help people to be healthy, fit and strong and you have two, vital, important and serious career choices…
Medical Professional
Or
Fitness Professional!
Medical Professionals treat and cure illness, sickness and disease (and have to spend six to ten years at university to then have a career dealing with sick, injured, depressed people every day).
As a Fitness Professional you will be responsible for preventing illness, sickness and disease (and play a major role in treatment and cure). A MAX International Fitness Professional can train quickly and then have a career making a positive difference to all of the major medical challenges and have a fitness career you will love-even on Monday mornings!!
Warmest Regards, Steve & Ben
PS. Please call our MAX Team today and share with us WHY you are serious about a long, term career in fitness
Get to know the people who have a BIG Picture Vision to positively change the health and fitness of the world and to continuously raise the professional standards of the Fitness Industry.
Steve Barry
Hi there from Savvy Steve in sunny Christchurch, New Zealand. 15 years in commercial and corporate banking followed by 12 amazing years in the fitness Industry which included owning, creating and building two premium New Zealand Health Clubs, lead me to the serious and fun business of Fitness Education. I am 45 years young and incredibly excited about the future of MAX and the positive impact we are going to have on our industry in Australia, New Zealand and beyond.
The opportunity to take Ownership of Max and yet retain Kerry and Rowena McEvoy as a key part of our business is just fantastic. Kerry and Rowena are two of the most professional, experienced and inspirational people in the Fitness Industry globally let alone in Australia and New Zealand and they will continue to make a huge impact for Max as key Team Players.
I have an incredibly supportive wife and three children (a 17 year old daughter and 15 year old twins) to keep me grounded and on my toes! They have supported me every step of the way. It is so true that… The quality of your life is directly proportional to the quality of the people in it!
Live life to the MAX!
